The Municipal Association of SC Risk Management Services will offer public works risk management training for public works and utilities staff on April 16 in West Columbia.
Attendees at this session will receive an overview of the top safety and liability issues facing municipal public works and utility officials and employees. It will also feature a presentation on heat stress, including recognizing signs and symptoms, prevention strategies, hydration protocols and emergency response procedures. An awareness-level CPR/AED and first aid training will also be included.
Presenters will include SC Municipal and Risk Financing Fund Defense Attorney Daniel Plyer, Senior Health and Safety Consultant Brooks Wolfe, and representatives from Lifework Education, Inc.
