Police Officer, Ridge Spring Police Department
Full-time and part-time position available
Provides daily patrols and routine law enforcement duties for the town. Officers are responsible for police patrol/enforcement and investigating alleged criminal activity. Officer will follow procedures and directives as outlined by the Chief of Police or his designee. Responds to incidents as relayed by the dispatcher and conducts preliminary investigations when needed. Conducts follow up investigations, enforces town ordinances and state laws, prepares written incident reports, accident reports, search and seizure.
Assists at special events as needed, performs all other duties as required or directed by the Chief of Police or his designee. Makes walk through checks off all businesses daily. Does welfare checks on citizens as needed.
High Schhool diploma, certification in good standing with the SCCJA, Valid South Carolina Drivers License with limited violations. Clean work history.
Good oral and written communication skills, good physical condition, history of good judgement to make sound decisions, good skills in handling emergency vehicles and other equipment.
Ability to carry out law enforcement duties during emergency and non-emergency situiations often under adverse conditions. Ability to deal with disgruntled and sometimes violent individuals, the ability to carry out physically demading situations. Treat everyone with respect and be temperate in your disposition.
