Assistant Town Administrator, Town of Edisto Beach
Administration & Organizational Management: Assist the Town Administrator with the day-to-day management and administration of Town operations, including implementation of policies and procedures, personnel matters, budgeting and capital planning, procurement, strategic planning, and oversight of assigned departments, staff, and special projects. Serve as Town Administrator in the Administrator’s absence
Projects, Grants & Intergovernmental Relations: Manage and coordinate special projects and initiatives; proactively pursue and coordinate grants; conduct research and analysis to support Town policies and decisions; monitor relevant state and federal legislation; and represent the Town in interactions with governmental agencies, community organizations, boards, commissions, and other stakeholders.
Communications & Public Engagement: Coordinate Town communications and public information efforts, including website content, media relations, public inquiries and citizen concerns, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, and preparation of meeting agendas and supporting materials. Assist with municipal elections, special events, and other administrative functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration or a related field. Minimum of six years of progressively responsible management and administrative experience, preferably in a public-sector or local government environment. Demonstrated knowledge of public administration, budgeting and municipal finance, procurement, personnel administration, policy development, and governmental operations. Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualification: Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, business administration, or a closely related field.
