Firefighter-Captain Shift Supervisor, City of Lake City
The Fire Captain/Shift Supervisor coordinates all the daily activities of the Department, on assigned shift, to meet assessed needs and ensure the competency and proficiency of all personnel. Responds to alarms while on duty, acts as Safety Officer and performs Fire Suppression and Medical First Responder duties, ensuring proper and prompt response to emergency situations. Assist in the implementation of required standards and guidelines and other duties as required by the Chief. MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND MONTHLY DRILLS WHEN OFF-DUTY
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must have a valid SC Class E driver’s license, IFSAC Firefighter II Certification, Medical First Responder, Pump Operations, Aerial Operations, Incident Safety Officer, Arson Detection for First Responders, and may be required to obtain other technical certifications as deemed necessary. Must have or be able to obtain Fire Officer I Certification within one (1) year. Five years of previous experience in the fire service, including supervisory experience at Officer level; and must be in good health and physically able to perform all duties.
