Regional Advocacy Meetings Coming in September and October

In its 2026 legislative session, the General Assembly took action on everything from modifying the regulations for local governments investing their funds to establishing new rules for municipal elections, creating new legal protections for monuments and memorials, and many other topics. In January, it will again take up many issues affecting cities and towns at the beginning of the new two-year 2027 – 28 session.

The Municipal Association will again offer its Regional Advocacy Meetings at six locations around the state this fall.

In these meetings, the Association’s advocacy team will go on the road to facilitate discussions with municipal officials and listen to local concerns that could turn into statewide legislation.

All of these meetings will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with dates and locations listed below. The meetings are free for municipal officials, but meeting registration is necessary for lunch and handouts.
