COLUMBIA, SC — Main Street South Carolina, a program of the Municipal Association of South Carolina, announces the launch of the Small-Scale Producer Growth Accelerator, a new initiative designed to help small scale producers in South Carolina’s Appalachian region expand their businesses, reach new markets and strengthen the local economy.
Funded to promote regional economic development, the 16-week hybrid program will provide selected participants with mentorship, peer networking, business education and access to capital. The Accelerator program supports small-scale producers in seven counties within the Appalachian Regional Commission area: Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg and Union.
“By equipping small-scale producers in South Carolina’s Appalachian region with the tools for growth, from mentorship and networking to capital access and distribution strategies, we’re not just helping individual businesses succeed. We are strengthening our communities and building a more resilient regional economy,” said Jenny Boulware, manager of Main Street South Carolina.
Through the program, up to 20 small scale producers will be selected to participate in hands-on learning sessions, individual mentoring and peer collaboration. Participants will receive guidance on how to scale operations, increase revenue, as well as explore new sales and distribution channels.
