Town Planner , Town of Hollywood
The Town Planner supports the Town's planning, zoning, and code enforcement functions by assisting with development review, land use planning, ordinance administration, and public engagement. This position helps ensure orderly growth and development while providing excellent customer service to residents, businesses, developers, and other stakeholders.
• Process and route planning, zoning, and development applications. • Respond to public inquiries regarding zoning, land use, permitting, and development regulations. • Provide administrative leadership to the Planning Department and coordinate with the Administrative Assistant on planning-related tasks. • Conduct code enforcement inspections and investigations and assist with ordinance compliance. • Prepare staff reports, maps, presentations, correspondence, and other planning documents. • Present development proposals and planning recommendations
Minimum Qualifications • Associate’s degree in Planning, Zoning Administration, or a closely related field; and • One (1) year of experience in planning, zoning administration, code enforcement, or a related field OR • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Knowledge of zoning regulations, land use planning principles, and code enforcement practices. • Ability to interpret and apply ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures. • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with GIS is preferred. • Ability to prepare professional reports and present information to boards, commissions, and elected officials. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, elected officials, developers, consultants
