Job Duties

The Town of Pacolet (Population 2,644) is seeking an energetic and visionary leader with strong collaboration skills to serve as the next Town Administrator. The next administrator will work with a supportive Town Council that has a bold vision for the future. This is an excellent opportunity for a management professional looking to make their mark. The Town Administrator will report to a 7 member Town Council, operating under the Council Form of Government.

Primary duties include but are not limited to: • Direct, supervise, and coordinate the administrative operations of the Town. • Prepare a proposed annual budget in consultation with the Town Council, Clerk, and department heads for Council consideration. • Monitor the financial condition of the Town. • Maximize efficiency in departments by combining job positions within departments as necessary or prudent. • Provide council with information, guidance, and leadership in matters of policy. • Investigate and apply for grant opportunities to support the Town upon approval by Council.

• Attend all regular and special meetings of council. • Monitor all town operations for compliance with the Town Code of Ordinances. • Resolve citizen complaints, disputes, and problems of service delivery. • Manage and promote the Town on social media platforms and online, and promote a positive image of the Town Government in the community. • Participate in appropriate local community organizations.

Qualifications

The Town of Pacolet wishes for the next Town Administrator to be a valued member of the community, thus should be someone excited at the prospect of serving in this role for at least 2 to 4 years. Education and Experience • A minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible local government experience is required. A supervisory experience is highly desired. • A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred. • The Town Council is willing to consider any combination of skills, experience, and education

Town Council prefers the next Administrator possess the following competencies: • Organization and staff development • Human Resources Mangement • Economic and community development • Planning, Zoning, and Codes Enforcement • Finance, accounting, and budget management

Personal Characteristics: • Approachable management style • Ability to function as a facilitator and consensus builder among staff, community stakeholders, and council • Ability to maintain tact and poise in difficult situations • Excellent listening skills, as well as the ability to accept constructive criticism • Energy and Enthusiasm for the Town • The ability to manage multiple complex projects and strong analytical skills to guide long term strategy

Pay Info
The Town Council anticipates hiring the successful candidate at $50,000 to $65,000 depending on qualifications. Additional benefits include a Town cell phone, sick and vacation leave, expense budget, SC Retirement and Insurance, and Life/Short Term Disability Benefits
