Town Administrator, Town of Duncan
Supervise town staff and individuals who provide services to the town. Oversee town departments, projects, and contracts. Prepare agendas, participate in all town council meetings, draft and implement town council resolutions, ordinances, and policies.
Respond to complaints, concerns, and suggestions from town residents and business owners. Work with outside agencies and organizations where possible. Provide council with information, guidance, and leadership in matters of policy.
Actively investigate federal, state, and county grants, shared services, and funding and prepare necessary applications upon approval of town council. Prepare the Town's annual budget, execute the budget upon adoption, and monitor the financial condition of the town. Promoting a positive image of the town government through the community. Participate in appropriate community organizations and activities.
A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible local government experience is required. Supervisory experience is highly desired. Town Council is willing to consider any combination of skills, education, and experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the position's duties and responsibilities.
A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree is desired. Residency within the Town is preferred but not required. Town Council prefers that the next Town Administrator to possess competencies in the following areas: Organization and staff development, human resources management, economic and community development, planning, zoning, and codes enforcement, finance, accounting and budget management, and familiarity with public works operations.
Town Council is seeking an individual who is approachable, able to build consensus among staff, Town Council, and stakeholders. The next administrator should also be involved and visible within the community, have superb communication skills, the ability to navigate difficult situations, strong analytical skills.
