Police Officer, St. George Police Department
Perform routine and directed patrol assignments to prevent and detect criminal activity, enforce state laws and municipal ordinances, observe and report hazardous conditions, conduct security checks of businesses and public facilities, respond to suspicious incidents, and maintain order through a proactive and professional law enforcement presence.
Respond to a wide variety of emergency and non-emergency calls for service, exercising sound judgment and professionalism while protecting life and property. Officers are expected to assess dynamic situations, assist victims, resolve conflicts, investigate incidents, enforce laws, and provide exceptional service to the community.
Perform a variety of additional law enforcement and public service duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting the department's mission, special operations, community events, and emergency response efforts.
Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Be a South Carolina resident who is at least 21 years of age, who has a valid South Carolina Driver's license with a good driving record.
Have a clear criminal history and be able to legally possess a firearm.
