Performs a variety of groundskeeping duties: mows grass, plants flowers and shrubs, weed eats around signs and fence lines; edges curb lines, clears leaves, tree limbs and other debris from park areas, spreads and hauls ground cover, dirt, or mulch; prunes trees and shrubs; weeds flower beds, aerates and spreads grass seed; and performs general service of irrigation systems. Performs general custodial duties at assigned facilities: vacuums carpets; hoses decks; scrubs and waxes floors; dusts, washes windows, collects litter, and sets ups and tears down staging, chairs, tables, bleachers, etc.

Performs general maintenance tasks necessary to keep machinery, equipment and tools in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, checking fluid levels, replacing fluids, greasing equipment, washing/cleaning equipment, and cleaning shop and work areas: monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; and reports faulty equipment. Maintains inventory of equipment, parts and supplies: gathers supplies and equipment to complete work assignments; transports supplies to and from work site; initiates orders for materials and equipment needed;

Operates or uses a Town vehicle, and various equipment, power tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments such as lawn mower, weed eater, blowers, tillers, bobcat, tractor, dump truck, wheel barrel, jack hammer, sledge hammer, saws, clippers, back hoes, and other power or motorized equipment.
