Investigator, Town of Ridgeland Police Department
Will lead complex criminal investigations, analyze evidence, and collaborate with various government agencies to solve cases efficiently.
Utilize surveillance techniques to detect and deter criminal activities. • Conduct thorough criminal investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing data to build strong cases for prosecution. • Collect, analyze, and interpret evidence in accordance with the Constitution of the United States, South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy standards, and Ridgeland Police Department policies.
• Apply investigative interviewing techniques to obtain information from witnesses, victims, and suspects effectively while maintaining public safety and ensuring the integrity of the investigative process. • Prepare detailed investigative reports and documentation using report writing skills, ensuring accuracy and clarity for legal proceedings. • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, Solicitor's Office, and other government entities during joint investigations, sharing intelligence and coordinated efforts. • Assist with other duties as needed.
Minimum 5 years law enforcement experience. All prerequisites for Ridgeland Police Department police officer positions apply. Additional requirements, qualifications, and certifications may be required based on the position and department policy.
