Economic Development Director, Town of Moncks Corner
Lead the Town’s economic development, redevelopment, business recruitment, and revitalization efforts, including identifying and advancing commercial opportunities, attracting private investment, recruiting and retaining businesses, evaluating development sites, and implementing strategies that expand the commercial tax base and support long-term community growth.
Build and manage relationships with developers, investors, brokers, property owners, businesses, utilities, regional partners, and Town departments to move projects from interest to implementation. Serve as the Town’s primary contact for prospects, coordinate development-related meetings and resources, and facilitate public-private partnerships and redevelopment initiatives.
Manage and promote the Town’s economic development program, including serving as Executive Director of Corner Renaissance, Inc.; developing marketing materials and property inventories; analyzing economic, demographic, and financial data; managing budgets and funding opportunities; reporting results; and representing the Town with elected officials, business leaders, partners, and the public.
Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Real Estate Development, Finance, Marketing, or a closely related field, plus advanced professional training and at least four years of progressively responsible experience in economic development, community development, planning, or a related field, or an equivalent combination.
Preferred experience includes municipal economic development, downtown revitalization and redevelopment, working with developers, investors, and commercial property owners, facilitating public-private partnerships, and knowledge of South Carolina economic development programs and incentives.
Demonstrated ability to lead economic development programs, facilitate complex redevelopment projects, build productive stakeholder relationships, negotiate and coordinate development initiatives, market investment opportunities, exercise sound independent judgment, manage budgets, analyze data, and communicate effectively in writing and presentations.
