Community Development Services Coordinator, Town of Hilton Head Island
Join Our Team as the Community Development Services Coordinator The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking to fill a vacancy for a Community Development Services Coordinator to handle the processing of building permit, planning and fire alarm/security applications.
What You Will Do - Provides dependable professional advice and assistance to the general public and Town staff related to the LMO, Municipal Code, Building Code, Contractor Licensing Law, Land Development, Zoning, Signage, Permitting, Inspections, and Comprehensive Plan provisions - Coordinates with Town staff as necessary on building permit applications, plan development applications, Natural Resource applications and pre-application review for compliance; - Verifies critical information related to property owners, state, local and Town licensing requirements;
- Identifies and resolve issues in permitting software systems and online permit application workflows; - Responsible for issuance of over-the-counter Building Permits; - Reviews and coordinates with the Floodplain Administrator to ensure Flood Elevation Certificates are in compliance; - Approves Residential Site Plans for compliance; - Updates and approves residential and commercial renovation permit applications; - Processes inspection requests.
Qualifications - High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
