Building Inspector, City of Greenwood
Under limited supervision, this position inspects new and existing residential and commercial structures to ensure that specific components meet building, grading, zoning, and safety laws provisions and approved plans, specifications, and standards. Enforces city ordinances relating to housing and general maintenance of property. Reports to the Building Official.
Associate degree or equivalent with education regarding building codes, one to two years of related experience in construction or related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Must possess or obtain at least one International Code Council certificate within six months of hire in Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, or Building. You must also complete courses to maintain the previously mentioned certificates as required. Must have a valid SC driver’s license.
