Animal Control Officer, City of Goose Creek
Patrols the City canvassing for unrestrained animals (both domestic and wild).
Monitor's violations of animal control City ordinances and state laws.
Responds to calls for capture, transport and impoundment of stray or at-large animals.
Apprehends diseased or injured animals.
Determines ownership of animals.
Provides proper care and control of apprehended animals, to include basic first aid as necessary.
Maintains accurate and detailed records of animals.
Investigates incidents of animal cruelty.
Instructs animal owners of their rights and responsibilities regarding city ordinances and state law.
High School Diploma or GED, required. Training in Animal Control, Veterinary Sciences or related field is preferred.
Two years of experience in animal control and removal or a related field.
Any combination of education and experience totaling two years is acceptable.
Valid South Carolina Driver's License. Completion of department Animal Control Officer field training within six months of employment.
