Police Officer, Town of Ridge Spring
Provide daily patrols and routine law enforcement duties for the town. Officers are responsible for police patrol/enforcement and investigating alleged criminal activity. Officer will follow procedures and directives as outlined by the Chief of Police or his designee. Responds to incidents as relayed by the dispatcher and conducts preliminary investigations when needed. Conducts follow up investigations, enforces town ordinances and state laws, prepares written incident reports, accident reports, search warrants, arrest warrants, all in accordance with probable cause, search and seizure
Assists at special events as needed, performs all other duties as required or directed by the Chief of Police or designee.
High School Diploma, completion of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, valid South Carolina Drivers License with limited violations. Clean work history.
Good oral and written communication skills; good physical condition, history of good judgement to make sound decisions, good skills in handling emergency vehicles and other police equipment.
Ability to carry out law enforcement duties during emergency and non-emergency situations often under adverse conditions. Ability to deal with disgruntled and sometimes violent individuals, the ability to carry out physically demanding situations.
