Assistant Director, Sports and Events Center, City of Greer
Supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers training, advice, and assistance as needed. Assist the Director in planning, directing and managing the day-to-day operations of the Center, Work to ensure the overall success and profitability of the complex. Ensure the facility is maintained as a first-class, detailed, and organized venue
Understand all equipment, systems, operations, and warranties. Directly oversees certain staff that may include administrative personnel, office management, customer service, front of house, facilities and custodial staff. Assist in business development, recruitment, sponsorships, customer relations. Promote, sell, and manage all rentable spaces to maximize revenue. Oversee the execution of the confirmed rentals. Send and track rental agreements, payments, Insurance certificates. Ensure all invoices are paid on time. Maintain a positive public presence through media and community events
Coordinate targeted marketing campaigns. Serve as manager on duty during large tournaments and events. Plan annual community engagement events that will be a free opportunity to serve our community Promote, sell, and manage membership for fitness center and golf simulators. Negotiates contracts and agreements with event organizers, hosts, managers and agents. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work. Processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Assist the Director in the oversight of facility
Bachelor’s degree in public Assembly facility management, hospitality management, business administration or related field. At least three (3) years’ progressive responsibilities/experience with a professional sports and events center management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Two (2) years of direct supervisory experience. Computer Skills and knowledge of terminology used in sports and entertainment settings. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include early morning, evening, weekends and holidays.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver history. Upon employment, the following trainings are required: • Defensive Driver Training • Fire Extinguisher Training • Bloodborne Pathogens Training
