Job Duties

Administrative Support & Customer Service: Performs a variety of administrative duties to support department operations, including receiving, processing, and maintaining documentation in accordance with established procedures and timelines. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Event Coordination & Department Initiatives: Assists with the planning, implementation, and management of City events and community engagement initiatives. Attends event-related meetings, supports logistics, and contributes to post-event evaluations.

Main Street Program Management & Reporting: Serves as the primary liaison to Main Street South Carolina (MSSC) and manages the day-to-day operations of the Fountain Inn Main Street Program. Coordinates initiatives under the Main Street Four-Point Approach®, maintains all required documentation, and ensures compliance with state and national accreditation standards. Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for MSSC, tracking economic activity, programming metrics, and board documentation. Pursues state and national recognition through award submissions.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Communications, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred; supplemented by two years of experience in planning and implementing events; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all City or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Pay Info
Pay range is from $19.50 to $23.00 per hour based on qualifications.
