Acts as lead person on a crew/team and directs all crew activities. May direct multiple teams. May act as Superintendent in the absence of other leadership. Enforces safe work practices, as experience, judgment, company policy, and OSHA specifies and conducts safety training in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Cleans streets by picking up trash and debris and cleaning ditches and drains. Performs minor repairs on City buildings.

Performs various street maintenance duties such as cutting grass, trimming limbs, cutting trees, patching asphalt, fixing sidewalks and driveway entrances, fixing storm drainage facilities, etc. Responsible for snow removal. Completes work orders on a regular basis. Drives and operates department vehicles and heavy equipment.
