Stormwater Technician I, City of Greer
Installs and maintains stormwater systems throughout the City. Builds and repairs catch basins, installs storm pipe, and inspects and cleans storm system. Operates a variety of light equipment, as well as hand tools in performance of job duties. Assists in setting up trenching and shoring as required. Perform confined space entries when needed. Build and repair catch basins to include setting elevations and laying out location; excavate and build catch basins with brick, block and cement. Change out slabs and grates for catch basins.
Operate Jet/Vacuum combination truck to jet/vacuum lines and catch basins. Frequently requires emergency situations, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, working closely with others as part of a team, tedious or exacting work, and noisy/distracting environment. Set up traffic control when necessary. Wash road/landscape as needed. Maintain machines and equipment in proper working order.
Support Inclement Weather Operations: Work outside of regular schedule, throughout inclement weather conditions (i.e. snow and ice) by operating spreaders, loaders, snowplows, and other specific equipment necessary to clear and maintain roads and walkways. Ensures Workplace Safety: Complies with City, State, and Federal safety procedures and protocols in the performance of job duties.
· High school or GED equivalent. · Two (2) years of experience in the field of Stormwater and Stormwater maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. · First aid/CPR, Traffic Control training, and Pipe Installation trainings. · Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history
