Job Duties

Assists in the planning, organizing, directing, recruiting and supervising of all cultural arts activities and programs for the City of Greer and the Greer Cultural Arts Council under the direction of the Cultural Arts Supervisor. Supervises cultural arts staff and volunteers in absence of Cultural Arts Supervisor. Acts as receptionist which involves answering telephones, taking messages, routing calls, providing facility/park tours at the Center for the Arts, providing assistance as needed, greeting the general public, providing directions, and dealing with media with respect

Coordinates and organizes the cultural arts classes held throughout the year in art, drama, dance, and music; employ the teachers involved in the program, completes Contractor Agreement forms with the Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department, monitor staffing conflicts and costs; collects fees for classes and ensure all deposits are made in a continuing effort to track and control costs of programs. Maintains events calendar and scheduling for rentals, internal programming and public events at the Center for the Arts. Performs general bookkeeping duties including maintaining records and files

Maintain social media for the Cultural Arts Division and Greer Cultural Arts Council including Facebook and Instagram. Receives and/or reviews various records and reports such as budget for events, registrations for programs, applications, and questions on programs at the Center for the Arts. Prepares and/or processes various records and reports such as budget recommendations, media releases, monthly reports, and general office correspondence. Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as Cultural Arts assistant, co­workers, volunteers, and the general public.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts or related field. Three (3) years’ experience in arts programming or closely related field. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.
