24/48 w/ Kelly Day (8 shifts per month and 5 days off every three works)
Job Duties

The team member will provide emergency services to include respond/operate fire apparatus, fire suppression, hazardous materials mitigation, technical rescue, customer service-related responses and patient care equivalent to the emergency medical responder level (EMR).

Conducts pre-fire plans of businesses, performs routine maintenance of fire apparatus, equipment and fire hydrants and teaches fire safety programs to the community.

Attends a variety of training programs offered by the department, state fire academy, and other specialized sources. Further education and training will be encouraged. The chosen candidate may be required to attend other training courses designated by the Fire Chief.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen, 18 years of age and pass SLED background check with clear criminal record. • Minimum High School Diploma or GED • Must pass Pre-Employment physical and drug screening • Valid South Carolina driver's license (Class E License preferred/must obtain) • At least one year of full-time firefighting experience or three years of volunteer experience.

• NFPA Firefighter I • SCFA HazMat Operations • Emergency Medical Responder (DOT or ASHI) • SCFA Emergency Vehicle Driver Training • SCFA Pump Operations 1 • SCFA Basic Auto Extrication • NIMS 700/800 (Incident Command Training) *Must obtain: NFPA Firefighter 2, Hazmat Technician, Pump Operations 2, Confined Space Rescue

• Good personality, communicates and works well with others and the community • Ability to arrive to work on time • Willing to train and work out while on shift • Shows initiative and desire for continued improvement

Pay Info
Salary Range is $41,000 to $43,000 per year. Overtime and special event pay will be available.
