Police Officer - Traffic Unit, Moncks Corner Police Department
This is an open position in our Traffic Unit as a motorcycle rider. Assists with planning, organizing, and the education and enforcement efforts of the Police Department. Enforces local, Federal, and State laws and ordinances relating to public safety and welfare; performs duties in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, ordinances, regulations, and safety standards. Takes active charge in emergency or unusual situations; stresses and practices safety in situations where subordinates or innocent people could be Attends training sessions; maintains the required level of
proficiency in Receives and responds to citizens’ concerns and complaints concerning law enforcement activities and personnel. Performs general law enforcement duties as necessary, including but not limited to patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls, maintaining public safety, arresting suspected law violators, etc. Prepares cases for prosecution; provides evidence and testimony as necessary. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of experience in law enforcement, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have completed the prescribed course of study at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Training Academy. Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license with a Class M endorsement. Must have completed required courses and certification(s) as deemed necessary by the Town.
