Job Duties

Under supervision of the Chief Municipal Judge, Mayor & Town Council, is responsible for providing specialized supervisory administrative support and technical dissemination services to ensure proper and efficient Municipal Court and Bond Court operations.

Opens the Municipal Court for business. Handles incoming phone calls and directs calls to appropriate departments, answers general inquiries from walk-in traffic as required. Receipts and processes payments made to the Municipal Court using Court Case Management System. Processes refunds of court fines and / or bond payments as needed. Prepares Municipal Court funds for deposit. Inputs Municipal Court tickets and dispositions using the Court Case Management System.

Assists the Municipal Judge(s) during traffic court. Assists the Municipal Judge(s) during bond hearings, if needed. Compiles and disseminates monthly Municipal Court reports to S.L.E.D. Performs clerical duties and special tasks assigned by the Municipal Judge.

Qualifications

Two years of increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical experience including one year of experience comparable to that of Executive Secretary; experience working in Court System, solicitor, Paralegal preferred.

Must Possess and Maintain a valid South Carolina Driver’s License (Class D). Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.

Must complete NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, & 800 within six months of employment.

Pay Info
Salary is commensurate with experience.
