Tradesworker Supervisor, Charleston Water System
Supervises and coordinates the activities of assigned staff engaged in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing equipment and other components associated with the operations and maintenance of facilities. Acts as a working member of the crew. Performs work involving skilled duties in the mechanical and electrical/electronic fields. Duties include proficient knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of building facilities. As a working supervisor, plans, coordinates, and directs the workload and effort of assigned staff.
Supervises, coordinates and performs activities in the inspection and maintenance of facilities to include HVAC, plumbing, lighting/electrical, office furnishings, custodial, etc. • Inspects facilities, corrects deficiencies, troubleshoots and repairs, and/or makes adjustments as necessary for proper operation of facilities and equipment. Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, regulatory requirements and industry standards. Ensures all maintenance is accomplished in accordance with Computer Maintenance Monitoring System (CMMS) requirements and maintains CMMS work
• Associate Degree in Engineering or related field with at least three (3) years of progressive experience in the maintenance and/or repair of mechanical and electrical systems with increasing levels of responsibility; or a combination of education and experience totaling six (6) years with increasing levels of responsibility. • Extensive knowledge of the principles, methods, standards, and tools employed in carrying out the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. • Excellent writing, reporting, communication and technical skills.
Ability to operate a personal computer and efficiently use Microsoft Office software programs to include Word and Excel. • Prior work record indicating dependability and conscientiousness. Valid South Carolina Driver's License required.

Ability to travers in adverse field conditions to include treatment plant sites, construction work sites, unpaved streets, uneven ground, cluttered work areas, wet conditions, etc. • Ability to observe repairs and field work in progress. • Frequently positions self to move, traverse and lift up to 50 pounds to perform required work. Objects greater than 50 pounds require a two-person operation. • Ability to reach, pull, handle documents, tools and equipment as required to perform routine tasks. Must be able to turn valve operator wheels and chain mechanisms.
