Town Engineer, Town of Fort Mill
Manages the planning, design, and construction of water, sewer, wastewater, and roadway capital projects and development-related infrastructure. Develops and manages annual and project specific budgets; applies for and manages project grants; manages and organizes personnel and equipment resources to accomplish tasks. Develops and maintains applicable specifications and requirements for the standardization of construction and engineering projects produced by internal and external customers.
Supervises the construction of CIP projects, including developing requests for proposals, retaining outside engineering services, and reviewing ongoing construction. Reviews and comments on submitted development projects to ensure compliance with applicable specifications. Communicates with staff, governing bodies, and the public in relation to duties, policies, plans, and projects as required. Supervises the application of town policies and procedures for personnel and managers; delegates duties as applicable. Performs related duties.
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require ten years of related experience. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Certification as a Professional Engineer in the State of South Carolina.
