Support Specialist, Lower Savannah Council of Governments
The Planning, Community & Economic Development Support Specialist is an entry-level position designed to provide support across multiple program areas, including grant administration, housing, and regional planning. This role offers exposure to community development, public administration, and planning functions. Primary responsibility is to assist the PCED Program Managers with development, administration and compliance of projects and/or programs within the PCED Division. Projects/Grants administered by the LSCOG PCED Division include but are not limited to EDA, CDBG, and HOME.
1.Excellent organizational skills to maintain records including written applications. 2.Strong oral and written skills are necessary to effectively communicate. 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs. 4. Ability to Interpret, understand and follow policies and procedures. 5. Demonstrated ability to manage complex analytical tasks. 6. Basic knowledge local, state, and federal requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration, geography, political science, or a related field and two years training in related field, or equivalent combination of education and three years training and progressively responsible experience in a governmental and/or nonprofit organization serving the public.
