Job Duties

Under general supervision School Resource Officers respond to and resolve calls for service, perform law enforcement duties by patrolling a local opportunity school to ensure the safety and security of persons and property.

Provides classroom instructions on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, narcotics, safety, relationship skills, de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and responsible decision making.

Serves as the initial first responder and school safety coordinator for school emergencies.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

Must possess a valid a South Carolina driver's license

Must possess class 1 law enforcement certification from the SCCJA with at least 2 years of law enforcement experience. Preference will be given to officers currently possessing SRO Certification through the SCCJA, D.A.R.E. Instructor Certification, and/or G.R.E.A.T. Instructor Certification.

$50,000.00
