Job Duties

The Revenue Specialist may perform other duties as assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise balance the workload. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the City’s Business License Ordinance, organizational structure and the function of the other departments that interact with the licensing process.

Read, understand, interpret, apply, and explain policies, procedures, and ordinances to the public. Administer various revenues programs to ensure compliance with the City’s ordinances and regulations. Maintain the business license electronic database and records relating to business license tax accounts; enters new data and updates existing data; performs audits and reviews information in business license files for accuracy and completeness to ensure that all pertinent information is included in the file; identifies errors in files and makes corrections, as necessary.

Monitor business license status to ensure compliance and correct payment of taxes. Processes business license renewals in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures. Generate and distribute renewal notices, license certificates and delinquent notices.

Qualifications

Requires a High School diploma and some college courses in accounting, business, finance, or a closely related field •Two years of progressive, responsible, and professional experience in government accounting/finance preferred. •Knowledge of local government financial functions is a plus •Multilingual a plus

Pay Info
$45,608.00 - $68,412.00 Annually
