Pump Station Mechanic, City of West Columbia
• Inspects, troubleshoots, and diagnoses potential problems with pumps and motors; performs general repairs on all equipment related to lift station operation. Ensures equipment functions properly and in accordance with South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) standards for wastewater facilities.
• Responsible for scheduling and conducting preventive maintenance on necessary equipment and performing procedures on a weekly, monthly, semi-annually, or yearly basis in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations. • Read and interpret engineering drawings, one-line diagrams, and manufacturer operation and maintenance manuals.

Vocational/technical school education or training in electrical and mechanical repairs/maintenance plus three to five years of experience in the electrical or mechanical maintenance field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job duties.
Must possess a valid SC Driver's License.
Must be physically able to perform manual labor required.
