Job Duties

Provides technical assistance to cities and towns; establishes relationships and maintains an ongoing communication link between the members and the Association; and researches, prepares and delivers presentations at municipal council and Association meetings.

Promotes the Association’s programs and services; updates Association management on key issues or concerns from member cities and determines if any action is needed; serves as a technical expert researching, preparing and editing publications, resources and content; provides special services to cities and towns on request such as strategic planning, team building and council retreat facilitation.

May serve as a technical advisor to assigned affiliate organization(s); Assists with special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in public administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of seven years of management experience in local government or a closely related field. Valid South Carolina driver’s license required; International City/County Management Association Credentialed Manager preferred.

Must possess excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, analytical and customer service skills; strong working knowledge of local and state government; and experience dealing with a variety of municipal issues.

Requires flexible schedule to attend frequent evening and limited weekend meetings.
