Division Chief of Support Services, City of Greer
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Coordinates, assigns, and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
Directs the activities of the division, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards. Assists in directing and managing the development and implementation of division goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for each assigned service and/or operational area; and oversees the development and implementation of policies and plans related to departmental services and operations.
Responds to citizen complaints and follows up on issues to ensure responses are communicated and action is taken. Receives, reviews, prepares, and/or submits a variety of reports and documents including monthly statistical reports, memorandums, evaluation forms, incident reports, timesheets, training reports, vehicle maintenance reports, hydrant information, and general office correspondence. Provides detailed report monthly of turnout, and response times. Evaluating 90th percentile response. Provides monthly report of construction inspections, routine inspections, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Business, Management, Public Administration, or related field, or Eight (8) years of experience in fire suppression, fire prevention, and education, including five (5) years of fire service supervisory experience, or 15 years of fire service experience with at least 7 years of supervisory experience, or any combination of education and experience.
