The Town of Calhoun Falls is currently accepting applications for a Utility Manager. This leadership position oversees the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and compliance of the town’s water, sewer, and sanitation systems. The Utility Manager will supervise utility personnel, ensure compliance with South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) regulations, and manage service delivery in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner.

Plan, supervise, and coordinate the operations of the water, sewer, and sanitation services for the Town, Ensure compliance with all SCDHEC and EPA regulations and reporting requirements, Manage and train field staff; oversee schedules, work orders, and emergency response, Oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of utility infrastructure, Prepare departmental budget proposals and track expenditures

Maintain inventory and order materials, tools, and supplies as needed, Respond to customer concerns and service issues with professionalism, Work with Town Council and Clerk/Treasurer on utility policies, rates, and reports

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Public Works, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred, Minimum of five years of experience in water/wastewater utilities, with at least two years in a supervisory or management role, Valid South Carolina driver’s license (CDL preferred, Basic electrical knowledge.

Possession of or ability to obtain SC Water and Wastewater Operator Certifications, Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal utility regulations, Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies and work in varying weather conditions.

This position requires both office work and field supervision. The Utility Manager must be able to respond to emergency calls, supervise field operations, and conduct inspections in varied outdoor conditions.
