Transit Administrator, City of Clemson / Clemson Area Transit System (CATS)
The City of Clemson is seeking a dynamic and experienced Transit Administrator to lead and enhance the Clemson Area Transit System. Clemson Area Transit is a fare free system that serves partners in Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Counties. The Transit Administrator will oversee the planning, development, and management of transit services. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a strategic vision for urban mobility, and a commitment to advancing transportation solutions that support the city's growth and quality of life.
Plans, organizes, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates programs, plans, services, staffing, training, and equipment of the transit system. Coordinates operations to obtain optimum use of facilities, equipment, and personnel. Works with community agencies, local, state, and federal officials on transit issues within both of the CATbus’ designated UZA and Rural Areas. Maintains direct fiscal responsibility for the development and management of the overall Transit System budget.
Supervises department employees which involves such duties as instructing, assigning and reviewing work, maintaining standards, acting on employee problems, selecting new employees, appraising employee performance, and recommending promotions, discipline, termination, and salary increases.
Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, or related field Six years of transit experience and administration management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license or the ability to obtain one with a commercial driver’s license with air brake and passenger endorsement.
