Town Manager , Town of Winnsboro
Shall serve as the chief executive officer of the town. Will appoint and remove, as necessary, any appointed officer or employee with the town and fix the salaries as authorized by state statute. The manager shall prepare an annual budget for the municipal council, consisting of a mayor and 4 non-partisan councilmembers, and will be responsible for its administration. He shall advise the council on the financial condition and future needs of the community and work with the department managers on providing the services to the community.
The manager shall prepare and submit to the council a complete annual report of the finances and administrative activities of the town for the preceding year and make such other financial reports as may be necessary.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in public or business administration or related field and five or more years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government management or an equivalent combination of education and relevant management experience. MPA and HR certification is a plus. Experience in finance, budgeting, planning, and tactful communication skills are important.
