Job Duties

The Town Administrator directs and coordinates the administrative and operational activities of the town under policies and procedures set by the Town Council; supervises all department heads and personnel; and recommends hiring and dismissal of personnel, policies, and programs to the Town Council; prepares the annual fiscal budget and makes budget recommendations; oversees the condition of the town property and keeps tract of assests to be reported yearly to the town auditor; attends monthly and special call meetings as precribed by the Town Ordinanes.

The Town Administrator shall keep the Mayor and Council fully informed regarding all departmental operations, fiscal affairs, general problems, and administrative actions. The Administrator shall be responsible for the financial condition of the Town.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a related field. A master’s degree in public administration or a related field is a plus. The Town’s preference is for an individual with eight years of experience in local government planning and administration, or equivalent experience in business, law, or education. Additionally, the Town’s preference is for an individual who has an interest in public or business administration, finance, organizational behavior, or similar subject areas.

The Town is seeking an individual with the ability to relate well to the community and the ability to partner with the Town Council to carry out the Town’s strategic priorities. Candidates should possess knowledge of the following: intergovernmental relations, municipal finance, accounting, and budgeting; state and federal statutes affecting municipal governments including but not limited to financial, public works, and personnel practices; technologies that facilitate communication and office management, including a proficiency in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Pay Info
Starting salary and total compensation is $50,000 per year.
