12 hours shifts: must be able to work both shifts (days) 7 a.m. to (nights) 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Job Duties

Answers 911 emergency and non-emergency telephone lines; dispatches calls to responding police and fire units; monitors alarms and other telecommunications equipment; operates SLED/NCIC computer in order to access information and prepares various reports and maintains communication logs.

 

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. Must be able to successfully complete the E911 training class and become certified by the National Crime Information Center, Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD) and Priority Police Dispatch within the first year of employment. Must be able to successfully complete a two-week training class at the SC Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.
