Job Duties

Open and close the Town Hall daily. · Answer telephone calls, route inquiries, and respond to general questions. · Collect water and sewer bill payments and issue receipts. · Complete service contracts for new utility customers. · Issue and process work orders related to public works or utility services. · Accept payments for trash bags and sewer dump tickets. · Maintain and monitor a key log for town property access. · Issue yard sale permits. · Receive, sign for, and distribute deliveries from UPS, FedEx, and other carriers.

Pull utility location tickets using the SC811 or Student Power/Metal Protection System. · Submit and follow up on work orders with: - SCDOT (South Carolina Department of Transportation) by phone or online - Duke Energy via online work order requests · Serve as a certified Notary Public for town documents and residents. · Complete and submit the annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) to the South Carolina DHEC Bureau. Maintain cash receipts for mail payments. · Receive checks and prepare deposit slips for banking.

Assist with voter registration and election setup and operations. · Maintain the Veterans Memorial needs. · Update ordinances in books for Town and Council as required. · Assist the municipal judge with courtroom activities, including: - Setting court dates and STP dates - Preparing fine schedules · Maintain STP Logbook and provide monthly updates to Administrative Department. · Prepare the monthly State Fines report and pay monthly court fines · Open and process incoming mail; distribute checks and prepare outgoing mail.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. · Prior administrative or receptionist experience preferred, especially in a municipal setting. · Must be a commissioned Notary Public or able to obtain certification upon hire. · Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. · Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer functions. · Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. · Experience working with the public in a courteous and professional manner. · Understanding of local government operations is a plus.

$16.00-$17.00 per hour
