Position Hours
Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Friday, 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Job Duties

Operates various equipment and vehicles to complete tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of City grounds, property, rights-of-way, and other infrastructure for departmental operations.

Drives and operates rear-loading and semi-automated sanitation trucks to collect solid waste along an assigned route: positions vehicle to allow for the most efficient and effective loading or dumping of materials.

Drives and operates vehicles used in the collection and disposal of residential yard debris. Performs as an essential employee during storm preparation and clean-up.

Qualifications

Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of experience in driving and operating sanitation and other specialized maintenance equipment.

Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
