Patrol and Response Duties:  

• Conduct proactive patrols within designated zones to deter criminal activity and promote community safety.
• Respond to requests for service, both emergency and non-emergency, and take appropriate action.
• Monitor, identify, and report hazardous conditions affecting public safety. 

Traffic and Public Safety: 

• Enforce traffic laws and investigate vehicle collisions within the town limits.
• Direct traffic as needed and assist during parades, public events, or emergency conditions.
• Issue citations for parking and ordinance violations.

Community Policing and Engagement: 

• Build relationships with residents, businesses, and schools to support a team-based approach to public safety.
• Provide educational outreach to schools and community groups.
• Encourage citizen involvement in crime prevention through active patrol presence and public engagement. 

Criminal Investigation and Enforcement: 

• Investigate criminal offenses, ordinance violations, and suspicious activities.
• Conduct field interviews, make arrests, serve warrants and summonses as necessary.

Emergency Readiness and Response: 

• Police Officers are expected to be readily available and able to report for duty in the event of emergencies, including but not limited to hurricanes, natural disasters, or man-made incidents such as mass casualty events or civil unrest.
• Officers must be prepared to work extended hours under challenging conditions, participate in emergency response operations, assist in evacuation efforts, provide security, and perform other critical duties as assigned during declared emergencies.
