Responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws and ordinances, preventing crime, and building positive relationships within the community. Patrol assigned areas by vehicle or on foot to deter and detect criminal activity, respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, conduct investigations of crimes, traffic accidents, and suspicious activities, enforce traffic laws, make arrests and prepare detailed written reports, testify in court proceedings as needed, serve warrants.
