Job Duties

Assists the police chief with the day to day operations of the agency, and is the acting chief in his absence.

Patrols the town, writes citations, investigates accidents, take reports, attends meetings, handles training and agency schedules.

Performs all other functions of a certified SC class 1 police officer as necessary.

Qualifications

5 - 10 years as a certified class 1 police officer in SC, or another state with the ability to obtain a SC class 1 police certification.

3 - 5 years as a police supervisor, or an equivalent amount of training and experience may be considered.

Valid SC DL and a High school diploma is required. An Associates, or bachelors degree is preferred.

Pay is dependent on education and experience.
