Job Duties

This position will manage the police department budget for the City of Spartanburg and is responsible for the procurement and risk mitigation. Specific Duties Include: • Oversees planning, bidding, and managing of police department budget. • Serves as consultant to support Chief of Police in strategic management of departmental resources. • Provides financial advice to the Chief of Police and keeps others abreast of the financial status of the Police operating budget. • Research and submit the Police Department's annual operating budget and assists in fiscal planning efforts.

• Schedules and directs special purchases and their implementation. • Prepares, monitors, and submit Police Department Operating Budget. • Researches project development costs and orders supplies and vehicles for the department. • Supervises, instructs, and provides leadership to subordinate staff. • Utilizes supervisors to ensure work is completed in the most efficient and economical manner. • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal procurement law.

• Receives and handles complaints providing assistance, information, and solutions as needed. • Performs related work as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree • Four (4) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

 

Pay Info
Pay depends on experience and qualifications. Starting salary is $75,275.20 annually
