Job Duties

Patrols the downtown and adjacent areas to prevent crime, respond to incidents, and enforce local ordinances and state laws. Collaborate with the Community Engagement Manager to help plan and implement public safety strategies for special events, parades, festivals, etc.

Attend the Pendleton Area Business Association meetings and other community forums, including Homeowners Association meetings and houses of worship, to address safety concerns, build relationships, and promote positive interactions between law enforcement and the community.

Provide rapid and effective response to emergencies, accidents, and incidents within the downtown and adjacent areas, coordinating with emergency services as necessary. Other duties as prescribed by the Chief of Police.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and must be a minimum of 21 years old. Must possess a Class 1 Officer Certification from the SCCJA.

Three years experience in the law enforcement field. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have the physical ability to perform essential job functions.

Must pass physical, psychological and background check.

Pay Info
$22-25 hourly, up to 18 hours per week, depending on experience/qualifications.
