Municipal Clerk of Court, Town of North
Provide clerical support to the Municipal court, including receiving, indexing and recording court case information and/or legal documents, entering and updating data into databases, providing copies of official court and/or legal documents to the public, courts, litigants, attorneys and other appropriate parties. This classification also provides front office support.
Processes various court-related documentation; assists in preparing, receiving and processing subpoenas , court judgements, hearings, continuances, bench warrants and dockets; enters information pertaining to the same into computer database; reviews, verifies, records and file required information.
Performs general clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, processing business licenses and water/sewer payments, typing documents processing vendor invoices and preparing checks, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing or processing incoming/outgoing mail. Other duties as required. Maintains confidentiality of departmental documentation and issues. Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
High school diploma; supplemented by one year previous experience and/or training that includes court procedures, legal office work, basic bookkeeping, record management, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education and training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintains a valid South Carolina drivers license.
