Landscaping Ground Supervisor, Town of Pendleton
As a Landscaping Ground Supervisor, you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the Town's landscape areas, including but not limited to flower beds, shrubs, trees, grass, irrigation systems, weed control, and new landscape projects, as well as maintenance and preventive care of public buildings and playgrounds. Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of a small team that will be performing various landscaping and maintenance tasks. This hands-on role requires technical expertise in landscape construction, general maintenance, and strong leadership skills.
Overseeing and ensuring the efficient and high-quality execution of landscaping projects. Performing various groundskeeping tasks, such as lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and weed removal. Caring for trees by pruning, fertilizing, and addressing diseases or pests. Providing top-notch lawn care services, including aeration, fertilization, and overseeding. Conducting landscape maintenance tasks, such as mulching, edging, and flower or shrub planting. Inspect grounds and landscape work for compliance with established goals and expectations.
Maintaining and improving public buildings and playgrounds. Handles basic repairs and maintenance. Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary. Order materials, equipment and supplies as needed within purchasing limits. Trains, supervises, instructs, and directs, and landscaping and building and grounds employees. Assists with setting up Special Events, which may require some weekend work. Maintains Town sidewalks and other various rights-of-way.
An Associate's degree in a related field.
Five (5) years of experience in the Landscaping field. Three years supervisory or managerial experience in a related field. Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a valid SC driver's license or the ability to obtain one within six months of start date in this position. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred. Pesticide or Herbicide certification is preferred or the ability to obtain one within one year of start date in this position.
