Human Resources Specialist, Town Of Santee
Performs human resource functions: Conduct new employee orientation, prepares new employee enrollment documents, administers employee benefits; processes billings for insurance and retirement; maintains current and comprehensive knowledge of human resource related laws, rules and regulations and communicates change to employees; and maintains personnel records.
Perform payroll functions: Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls, related taxes, and retirement contributions; maintains employee time clock; verifies timesheets and obtain proper signatures; prints checks or transmits direct deposits as appropriate; files all payroll tax deposits and returns and W-2’s.
Perform accounts payable functions: Enter requisitions in software for processing of purchase orders, input and balance invoices for the bi-weekly accounts payable check disbursements; review all payables input by other departments to verify data accuracy; input and process electronic payments to certain vendors; reconcile monthly statements to ensure invoices are paid timely and accurately; process monthly credit card statements and ensure all required documentation is on file and maintain vendor files in accordance with best practices set forth by Town policy.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field required; supplemented by five years of experience in bookkeeping or administration; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
