Community Code Enforcement Officer, Town of Hilton Head Island
This position enforces the Town’s Municipal Code and Land Management Ordinance relating to environmental, public safety, health, sanitation, and other general regulations. Work includes receiving and responding to citizen complaints and reports from other agencies and departments on alleged violations of Town zoning, Land Management Ordinances and related municipal codes and ordinances as well as interviewing complainant and witnesses; conducting investigations and providing recommendations for resolution.
There are elements of this position that will be physically demanding so the successful candidate will need to be able to inspect and patrol public and private properties, conduct field investigations and patrol the beach on a regular basis in a variety of weather conditions.
High School diploma or equivalent; and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Driver's License. Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays.
