Business License / Zoning Clerk, Town of Irmo
The Town of Irmo is looking for someone with great customer service skills and an eye for detail to be our new Business License / Zoning Clerk.
This position performs responsible customer service and clerical work in support of office operations. Work involves calculating, verifying, and inputting data to maintain business license & zoning records; issuing business licenses, zoning permits, banner permits, hospitality tax, and rentals; coordinating Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals meetings; and working closely with the code enforcement officer with violations of zoning ordinance code and/or business license code. Must be available for 1 - 2 evening meetings per month. Reports to the Assistant Town Administrator.
Requires an Associate’s degree in business, bookkeeping or related field supplemented by two to three years of responsible bookkeeping, clerical and/or customer service work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
